Bert and Ernie created from hollowed out eggs. Made one Easter when my kids were small. They still sit in my parents' china cabinet. (The eggs, not my children.) Got some mildew and a few cracks. I think I'd have thrown them out by now.
My parents built and have lived in the same house since 1960 (I believe). The house I grew up in. Not much has changed there. Which is fine by me.

I needed a self-portrait for the week, so I went outside and shot a bunch of me jumping. After viewing them, I realized the shadows were in the wrong place so I wasn't really selling it. Then I saw Kensi's expression on this shot. The levitation aspect no longer mattered.

Should I lie and say it grew this way?
I've been preoccupied elsewhere this week. I started tweeting. I had been following a few twits (twats?) and realized if I just joined, it'd be easier to see them all in one place. This lead to my discovering a dozen more people and wanting to be as hip and topical as they are. So now the damage is done, and I too have to think up something witty and irreverent to say twice a day in under 144 characters. The pressure to preform like a monkey will eventually die off I'm sure. Probably when I find employment. But who knows, tweeting may actually find me that job I'm looking for!
That sounded believable, right?

I headed over to rustic road #35 after our last snowfall only to be disappointed by how many large, new homes had taken over the landscape. Didn't appear as rustic as I remember. There are still some nice bends in the road and some graceful, old trees guarding the few local farms that keep horses, but I didn't see any overall shots worth capturing. Maybe I'll return when things turn green.

I am finally done processing New Orleans photos taken last October. Another small batch yet so by the end of the week the whole set will be here. I'm that far behind in burning photos off my computer. It's beginning to act like a 90 year old with joint pain. "Bah, I don't really feel like moving right now. Ask me again after my nap."
I actually need to get out and capture some of this freshly falling snow. I've been cooped up for too long now just running quick errands here and there. Winter has now reached the marrow of my bones.

Poor Nigel. It's one medical condition after another for him. He's on thyroid medication, needs insulin twice daily, (his diabetes has lead to blindness), currently has an ear infection, and now had to have a suspicious lump removed. He's not even eight yet. The lump is being tested and it could take ten days before we know anything. It wasn't any bigger than my thumbnail, so I was surprised to see him return with a six inch incision. He was pretty loopy the day of surgery, but about 36 hours have passed and he's already jumping on and off the couch. Probably shouldn't be, but he hasn't let anything slow him down yet. Especially when the final goal is food related.
