nessy & friends
The best part of owning your own business is getting to test product you get in. Ok, maybe after making your own hours and not having a boss to answer to. In this case, my husband printed up some of his own creations onto canvas material. We (I, really) couldn't make up my mind on where to hang these, before finally deciding on the bedroom (even though everything else in there is framed in black). Things could change yet. I recently purchased this which was going to go in this spot, but it is still at the framing shop, so my impatience lead to some rearranging. Plus, I wanted to shoot these for that would-be, non-existent website you've probably heard nothing about.

frog invasion '09
We got some heavy rains Thursday and Friday, which produces a heavy frog population in our back yard as they all come up from the woods looking for higher ground. Unfortunately, once they reach the house, they also reach the two window wells on the patio, of which there is no escape. Since Cub sleeps in the basement, he's the first to hear them tap, tap, tapping at his chamber...um, window. Last week, we removed a little black mole scurrying around in there, and a year ago one captured a baby opossum! No, wait, he was in our recycling bin. Either way, I'm thinking we may need to open up a little outdoor cafe and grill up dis whole mess a critters right dare on the patio! Boy howdy!
Every meal will come with a side of Sun Chips.

summer just started and they're already bored
Remember that old punk song, Love Comes in Spurts? Let me refresh your memory. It just came to mind because that's how my uploading of photos goes these days. Weather has been playing a major roll. Blogging, unlike the US Postal Service, has no appointed rounds.
And now, our featured haiku:
You cannot deny
the adorability
factor here is high.
Alright, maybe some of you can, but I choose to put my fingers in my ears and go "la la la..."

Olive's powers are
beyond those of the average
woman. No wonder.
*********
To be more specific, Olive took part in Madison's Art Bike Rally yesterday. She didn't win but they were suppose to be voting for how decorative you made your bike, and I'm sure in her case, the judges somehow managed to look right past hers.
Cows on the Concourse also took place yesterday in case you were confused about yesterday post. An annual event reminding everyone that June is Dairy month! Lots of milk, cheese and ice cream samples on the square. Check my flickr page for the "wheel of grilled cheese sandwiches". I challenge you to find that in California.
Today we headed back into Madison to see "UP". Which my two thumbs are up for! I'm sure I'm the first to critique this movie in such a manner. Stand aside, Gene Shalit!

mobile junk yard
I've decided I'm going to keep describing my images in haiku form. Until I tire of it anyway. Which could be tomorrow...
I parked along side
some junk heap displaying this
Hot Wheels loser's zoo.

On an unrelated topic, has anyone tried bing.com yet? I haven't read the explanation on how it searches, but I did do a quick comparison search for "phantom kitty" between it and google. Google listed my blog in first place. Bing came up empty handed even after adding "blogspot". Second page? Still nothing. It did however find a Phantom Kitty on MySpace. Last Login: 11/27/2006. Way to go, Microsoft!

A haiku for my red bud tree...

sun kissed
Taken in my neighbor's yard. I'm afraid our yard is too shady to grow anything this cheerful. It's hostas and impatiens, or nothing for us. I'm not complaining though. We also use very little air conditioning during the summer. Just open the windows, turn on a fan and smell the neighbor's flowers...

is that steak done yet?
These two are always looking for a hand out...
The bridal wreath is at it's peak in this shot. The backyard changes from week to week with all the trees and scrubs. I can't even keep up with all the photos! May have to save some for winter when I'm jonesing for all this again.
