Ridiculousness was had tonight over at Tex Tubb's Taco Palace! The Madison Flickr Chics had their first meetup. Not to say guys can't join in, but members voted and it was decided they could only attend in drag.
Eight of us showed up tonight, all with cameras in tow. Some of us had met before, some had not, so the evening started out with a casual tone. But several margarita's later we were comfortable enough to pile on top of one another in a broken photo booth.
It was lovely getting to know you gals. I look forward to getting into a Volkswagen with all of you.

I defy you to say these are not awesome. The best part is, these are not just pretty faces (if you're into monkeys), but the best cupcakes you will ever devour! This particular flavor in cookie dough. Check out the cupcake link below to see the full menu. I urge you to make a purchase so she becomes so busy she's forced to hire me to decorate full time.

I didn't intend to leave all of you hanging as I’ve received countless emails from fans jonesing for an update from phantom kitty. And by countless, I mean, zero. But allow me to bring you up to speed whether you’re interested or not.
Some of you may be aware, my son is getting married this summer. In our backyard. Which means much work needs to be done, so the bouncey house and margarita machine are in presentable surroundings. This weekend we went shopping for wedding attire for them. Obviously the bridal gown and tux have been nixed, ‘cuz both would be rather constricting on a slip ‘n slide. My parents have been ordered to build us a deck. We’ve kept them alive this long, for just such a purpose. My dad is a retired builder who promised each of his kids a house that he would build. He’s not had to take any of us up on this yet, fortunately for him. But I’ll have a kick ass pie server to remember him by.
Monday night, the Mr. and I went to see the New Pornographers in concert. No photography was allowed, but seeing I was promised Neko Case when I bought the damn tickets, I couldn’t promise them no photography either. It was a great show even if she did break her foot and wuss out. We rarely see shows of this magnitude. For the most part, our concerts involve bands who run their own t-shirt sales table. Which was the case the first four or five times we saw Neko. This photo is from the first time we saw her and she signed it on the second. “No, I’m not stalking you! By the way, are you finished with your panties?”
Last night was a whole ‘nother can of worms! TLC and I headed over to Cupcake Wahine’s to assist in monkey cupcake construction. (Boy, is that line going to generate the hits on google!) CW had received a cupcake order with a limited time span, and due to the fact this is NOT her full time job, she was up to her armpits in monkey parts. I’ll post some photos tomorrow as I took quite a few and you’re going to want to see the series in it’s entirety, believe me!

Last night we attended an art show at Cha Cha Hair Salon/Anxiety Gallery in which the husband had a piece! Yea! I didn't see anything sell though as everyone there had more tattoos on them then money. No offense, tattooed people! It's obvious you like art, you simply wish to make a more permanent statement with it. I get it.
No, I don't, but I'm afraid of being seen as unhip in your presence.
Mind if I change the subject for a moment? Who here hates Ticketmaster? Everyone? Not surprised. I wasted ALL of my lunch hour on Friday punching in lame ass code words trying to get tickets to the Flight of the Conchords show coming to Chicago. Unsuccessfully. Unsuckcessfully. Ricockulously so. They're coming to Milwaukee too, but those tickets went on sale first so I got in that game even later. If anyone knows someone with extras, let me know. Hey, I may be able to trade you some original art for them! Don't mention that little deal to my husband though, ok?

Took in five movies this weekend and spent eleven hours Sunday volunteering for the film fest. I haven't recovered yet. I'm sure Chris is worse for wear as he was the official photog this year! Looking forward to seeing what he captured. Except for anything he shot of me, 'cuz I'm not too comfortable on that side of the lens.
Yesterday, Cupcake Wahine assisted me in getting my new laptop (her old one!) hooked up for wireless internet. So, now I too, can follow in the footsteps of Greg and Dan, and blog from the toilet! Except that I'm female so I get in and out in under two minutes. Instead I'll just stick to blogging while watching Cash Cab, as I'm doing now. If I accidentally type in things like Zapruder, it's because I'm getting overzealous during the street shout out.
So, as you can tell I've finally got the sketchy set loaded from last weekend. This is Moxie demonstrating a taste of what you may see her doing in a event that requires her to move! Tempting, yes? Look for her and several lovely ladies who frequent Dr. Sketchy's at a Peach Pie show near you! (If you're near Madison.)

We held a b-movie Dr. Sketchy on Sunday! Although I have yet to process the photos. More long hours. And coincidentally, I have to prepare for the Wisconsin Film Fest this weekend. I volunteer every year and there are meetings to attend and films to memorize. In addition, I'll be attending five films so trips to Madison will be frequent. Sunday I work 9:30am to 10pm at the Bartell. I've never been scheduled at the Bartell before so I hope it's an easy venue considering I'll be there 12+ hours! This may be a good time to take up coffee drinking. Or amphetamines.
Here's a shot I love that Glenn took few years ago that currently hangs in our living room.
