The prior photo was taken Thursday evening, where this one is from Friday morning. The backyard was gorgeous and I was late for work because I could stop shooting. I even took my camera to work thinking I'd get more at lunch as I'm just down the street from Rotary Gardens in Janesville. But the sun had other plans. I'm not complaining. Bright blue skies are pretty welcoming this time of year.

Hey! Guess what we got today! Take as many guesses as you like as long as all your answers are...SNOW! Yup! Didn't see that coming, did ya? I noticed last week that this lilac bush was starting to bud. Joke's on you, lilac bush. Where is this so-called global warming we were promised? Do I have to start running my car on coal to get some results around here?! Or maybe punch Al Gore in the kidneys? He seems to be behind this in some way or another.

You're getting tired of the movie props, aren't you? I haven't shot much lately, so you're stuck with these. I could've shot more snow this weekend because we got eight more inches last Friday, but everyone is sick of that imagery. It reached 50º again today so the snow's almost gone. Let's all cross our fingers this time spring is serious. Mother Nature is such a big tease! Word is going around she's easy too. But you didn't hear it from me.

Played hooky/paparazzi yesterday. I had no intentions of driving back to Columbus, but when I saw other people on flickr getting some really great shots of Johnny, making it seem like it wasn't that difficult to get, I decided to give it a shot myself! I got some insider tips from PBHGirl, arrived in town around 6:30am, and figured out the pattern of where he traveled. Unfortunately, it took me nine hours to be at the right place at the right time, but I left happy.
What is it about human nature that we feel such excitement over seeing a celebrity? I can speculate that it has something to do with connecting with other people, but frankly, if I saw Johnny Depp and no one was around to tell, I'd be just as excited. So, that blows that theory out the window.
If someone is willing to challenge this by devising a plan and making us the last two people on Earth, I'll do my part in this experiment to advance the field of psychology.

Yesterday I played tourist in the small town of Columbus, Wisconsin, about 45 minutes from my home. I was not alone as hundreds of other people were walking around to see the crew of Public Enemies turn the town into 1930's Indiana. Johnny Depp arrived to film today. Here's the inside scoop! I'm a huge Depp fan (and I can say that because I fell in love with him in Cry Baby. Can you say that, little twenty-something? No, so shut up and let an mature woman through), but I didn't know if there'd be any point. It also happens to be spring break, so my guess is every female that didn't leave for Florida or Mexico this week, would be heading to Columbus, Jack Sparrow photo in hand. I'm a Edward Scissorhands gal myself.

...I try to keep myself amused. See the slideshow (um, peepshow, if you will) here.
We're going up north this weekend to see the folks! Plus we're out of cheese. Central Wisconsin is cheese territory, you know. The local FFA is also having their annual pancake feed and where ever there are potato pancake, God willing, I must be as well.
Spring is hitting us FINALLY as you can now see over the huge piles of brown snow flanking the end of our driveway. On the drive home from work today, I had the sunroof open and I could smell fresh manure being spread on the fields. Ah, what a welcome aroma!

Saturday was Schwaklakk. Our annual soap carving party. You heard me. Soap carving. Maybe you were there! All the hip and happening people were. If you missed out, no doubt you'll be there next year. 'Cuz you wouldn't want to say you missed the event of the year two years running.
This piece was my contribution. See the whole set here.

I finally got all the photos up last night (early morning) from the last Dr. Sketchy's! I haven't put them in any groups as of this moment, so I figured I'd post the one that had gotten the most hits so far. This is the winner, ladies and gents. Not sure the reason behind it except that I've tagged it with the word "feet". Hey, I'm not knocking any fetishists because to each his/her own, right? But are feet really that attractive? Why not hands? Or am I out of touch and there are hand-fetishists out there? Ok, that's a just general observation. You don't have to respond.
This is Shane's interpretation as The Birth of Venus. Which he nailed! When Shane isn't standing perfectly still, you'll find him singing his big heart out with Screamin' Cyn Cyn and the Pons. Or as their myspace proclaims, he's all up on your dick. I'm unsure how to interpret that.

These tulips were a gift from Cupcake Wahini! Needless to say, cupcakes were also part of the package. My god, they are good. Thanks, doll.
I've fallen somewhat behind in my posting ritual obviously. I still have Dr. Sketchy photos to process from last weekend. I'll try not to leave you hanging much longer...
